Job Posting: Youth Basketball Coach

Position Overview:
All Star Basketball McAllen is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Basketball Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, possess excellent communication skills, and share a commitment to the development of young athletes both on and off the court. As a youth basketball coach, you will provide a safe, engaging, and constructive environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct practices that develop basketball skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation and personal growth.
- Implement the All Star Basketball practice and training curriculum.
- Monitor and assess player development and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Organize and manage game-day activities, including rosters, substitutions, and player conduct.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all players during practices and games.
Qualifications:
- Experience playing and coaching youth basketball, preferably at the middle school or youth level.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and game strategies, particularly in alignment with high-quality youth programs.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while promoting a love for the game.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with players, parents, and colleagues.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred; willing to obtain one if not currently certified.
- Must pass a federal, state, and county background check.
- A positive attitude, patience, and the ability to provide constructive criticism.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment.
Skills:
- Strong leadership abilities and the ability to manage a diverse group of young athletes.
- Proficiency in designing effective practice plans and game strategies tailored to various skill levels.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Knowledge of youth athlete development principles and the ability to apply them in practice situations.
- A passion for teaching and developing young athletes both in their sport and as individuals.
Pay:
